Petite Amelie Designlab Competition 2023 Update:

Dear participants, Due to the insufficient number of complete and qualitative entries, the jury was not able to select the winners of the competition.
However, we would nevertheless like to recognise the efforts of the participants and reward those entries that stand out for their quality and artistic value.

Please take this as an inspiration for direction but not too literally! We leave room for you to express your creativity.

BASIC STYLE: Clean lines, elegant simplicity, and timeless charm. This category celebrates patterns that are versatile and perfect for a wide range of kids' products to match modern-looking furniture and universal children's room designs.
ROMANTIC: Embrace the beauty of love and tenderness with patterns that exude romance, dreamy aesthetics, and heartfelt emotions. A little bit nostalgic and moody. Matching darker wood tones like walnut and being closer to nature color pallets.
PLAYFUL & FUN: Unleash your inner child and create whimsical, playful patterns that bring joy and laughter to kids of all ages. Don't be afraid to experiment with bold color combinations!!




COMPETITION DETAILS


Participants must design original patterns suited for baby & kids' products, such as bedding collections, swaddles, play mats, wallpapers, textile interior accessories and toys. Submissions should be in digital format (PDF) and must please be sent during the submission period.

Files should include:

- Pattern single tile in real size (ai. tif. or psd. file)– repeat pattern
- Colors palette selection (Pantone TPG/TCX color system)
- Project board: pattern set combination, inspirations, example of pattern use (mock ups) and whatever you feel might help to present your idea and concept in a wider context

Each participant can submit an unlimited number of patterns, but can only win in one category. The designs should be vibrant, captivating, and suitable for children aged 0-2 years (baby), and 3-6 years (toddler).




JUDGING CRITERIA


CREATIVITY: How innovative and unique is the design, considering the category?

VISUAL APPEAL: Does the pattern charm and resonate with the target audience?

SKILL: Is the design skilfully executed and professionally presented?

VERSATILITY: Can the pattern be adapted for various baby & kids' products seamlessly?




PRIZES


Winners will receive:


First Prize: 2500 Euro cash prize + Opportunity to create a Signature Collection + Patterns might be used in Bedding Collection and Toys + the opportunity for further cooperation and a fully paid internship.

Second Prize: 1000 Euro cash prize + Opportunity to create a Signature Collection + Patterns might be used in Bedding Collection and Toys + the opportunity for further cooperation and a fully paid internship.

Third Prize: 500 Euro cash prize + Opportunity to create a Signature Collection + Patterns might be used in Bedding Collection and Toys + the opportunity for further cooperation and a fully paid internship.

Collaborate with our team to create a full Kids' Signature Collection based on the winning pattern. Have your Signature Collection showcased on our website and marketed globally. A unique chance to leave a lasting impact on the world of kids' design!




HOW TO PARTICIPATE


Visit our competition website at www.petiteamelie.com/designlab during the submission period. Submit in your preferred category or categories. Send your pattern designs in digital format (PDF*).

An application for the competition should be sent by 31/12/2023 at the address designlab@petiteamelie.com.

*File (PDF) should include:

Provide a brief description of each pattern and the inspiration behind them. Send it to Petite Amelie Design Lab, and you're officially part of the competition!
